Having A Vision

Hi girls!

Well, this is my first official blog post, and I am happy to be here!

"Having a Vision" can be important. I have always thought that if we could think of it, then it is possible. Do you have a vision for your life? I know that many of you have a college and career vision. From the day that you enter Nazareth, you have been working toward it. Even if you can't articulate what exactly it is, your interests, your courses and your teachers move you toward it. How about a vision for the other parts of your life?

This is a time that more than ever, a vision can be important. Many of us are feeling stressed and anxious. It is natural to want to listen to the news and want to know "in real time" what is going on.

Overdoing it, however, may increase your stress level and worsen your anxiety. Your vision can help you, and using a tool like a "vision board" can keep you grounded while at the same time move you forward. Let me give you a simple example.

Your vision board could focus on Christmas 2020. Christmas is nice to look forward to. Right? Do you want to make cookies? Your vision board could include pictures of all the ingredients you would need for your recipe and the steps you would need to follow. You could cut out pictures of cookies and watch your dream come true! The same process can be used for some of the bigger dreams you might have. Your vision board can become your visual guide to the steps you will take to achieve your dreams.

I am including some links for you to check out. One is a Pinterest link for vision boards. It is full of examples of vision boards, quotes to keep you motivated, and free printables. There is a youtube.com video on vision boards and information from the Mayo Clinic entitled "A Wellness Vision". I am hoping that they speak to you and keep you moving toward making your dreams come true.
