Use Your Senses!

If you are feeling overwhelmed or stressed and need to calm down, try this exercise to ground yourself. In the moment you are feeling overwhelmed, take a deep breath, and then identify 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste. Using your senses to distract yourself from the current situation can help you calm down in the moment.
